The 26th annual 色花堂app CW HOG Pig Out, a dinner and fundraiser for 色花堂app鈥檚 Cooperative Wilderness Handicapped Outdoor Group, is Saturday, Sept. 15, in Lower Ross Park Pavilion. CW HOG provides outdoor recreational opportunities for individuals with and without disabilities.
The dinner includes barbecued pork, Idaho baked potatoes, corn-on-the-cob, green salad, and the HOGs鈥 specialty, a vegetarian Dutch-oven dish. Dinner is from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Musical entertainment, featuring U.S. Bluez, the Steel Head Red Band and Shawn Barnaby, will be 4-10 p.m.
The Pig Out is a family-oriented activity that is held in the afternoon to make it more convenient. Children鈥檚 games, arts and crafts and face painting will be provided from 3 to 5 p.m. by the ISU Council for Exceptional Children.
Those 12 and older pay $13 in advance, $15 at the door. Children 11 and under pay $6 in advance, $7 at the door. Children ages 5 and under eat free. Those only listening to the music pay $7. Advance tickets are on sale at Scott鈥檚 Ski and Sports, Budget Tapes & Records, Sandbaggers, Barrie鈥檚 Sports, Rob鈥檚 Ride on Bikes & Snow, Ace Hardware and The Outdoor Adventure Center in the basement of the Pond Student Union Building.

鈥淭he Pig Out is Pocatello鈥檚 party of the year,鈥 says Bob Ellis, CW HOG outdoor recreation coordinator. "CW HOG is grateful to the community of Pocatello for letting the HOGs out, so we can all play together,鈥 says David Kriner, CW HOG director.
Pig Out sponsors include Idaho Prosthetics and Orthotics, Convergys, Falls Brand Meats, Albertson鈥檚, KZBQ and KORR 104 Radio, United Dairymen of Idaho, Pocatello City Council, CARQUEST/Muffler Warehouse Inc., ISU Council for Exceptional Children, Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Pahl Farms, Golden Corral, Chartwells, H & H Dive & Travel, Clear Talk, Alameda Vision Center, Ace Hardware, Alpine Animal Hospital, Redwood Creek Wines, and Pocatello Women鈥檚 Correctional Center.
The Pig Out is the biggest annual event for CW HOG. Past Pig Out revenues have been used to purchase adaptive equipment for weightlifting and other fitness classes, snow and water skiing, Kids Camp, whitewater rafting and other projects.
This year鈥檚 Pig Out revenue will be used for adaptive programming across the board. Last year some 500 individuals with disabilities participated in the organization鈥檚 various activities.
The Pig Out started as a chili feed. Today, 650 pounds of pork are cooked for the 1,000 to 1,200 people who attend, and the event annually raises more than $11,000 for CW HOG projects.
