Grammy-winning Blues Traveler to perform at Davis Field April 12

 The 鈥渏am-band sensation鈥 Blues Traveler, a Grammy-winning band, will perform an outdoor concert at 色花堂app鈥檚 Davis Field at 7:30 p.m. April 12.

The concert is sponsored by Associated Students of ISU Program Board and is kicking off ISU Spring Fest 2007. The concert鈥檚 alternate performance site, in case of inclement weather, is Holt Arena.

Tickets are available online at www.isuticketsonline.com and at the Pond Student Union Building information desk. Ticket prices for the general public are $20 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Ticket prices for ISU faculty, students, and staff are $10 for adults and are free for the children 10 and under of ISU faculty, students, and staff. The free tickets for children of ISU students, faculty and staff can be picked up at the PSUB Information Desk or the Student Leadership and Involvement Center on the top floor of the PSUB.

Comprised of John Popper, Chan Kinchla, Brendan Hill, Tad Kinchla and Ben Wilson, the band released their eighth studio album and Vanguard Records debut, 鈥溌astardos!鈥 in September.

 鈥淭his is just us being completely ourselves, and not thinking about what we should be doing,鈥 says guitarist Kinchla.  鈥淏efore we made this record, we decided, 鈥楲et鈥檚 just make records that we love.鈥欌

Formed in Princeton, N.J., in 1983, Blues Traveler quickly became a mainstay on the club circuit, helping ignite a new generation of jam music fans. With renowned musicianship and song craft that blended blues-rock grooves with pop hooks, the band amassed a passionate following with its explosive live performances.In 1990, the band released their self-titled first album on A&M Records, followed by 鈥淭ravelers & Thieves鈥 (1991).  鈥淪ave His Soul鈥 (1993) broke into Billboard's Top 100, and the release of 鈥淔our鈥 (1994) spawned one of the biggest hits of 1995 鈥 the Grammy-winning 鈥淩un-Around鈥 鈥 and sold 4 million copies.  Subsequent releases include 鈥淟ive From the Fall鈥 (1996), 鈥淪traight On Till Morning鈥 (1997), 鈥淏ridge鈥 (2001) and 鈥淭ruth Be Told鈥 (2003).
