The Idaho Museum of Natural History is offering a unique learning experience for children this summer. The Art on the Road class on June 7 will take children on an all-day field trip to the Mackay Fish Hatchery to learn the science of growing trout and salmon for Idaho鈥檚 streams and rivers with Idaho Department of Fish and Game biologist Mick Hoover.

After learning about the fish, the children will then spend time with artist Linda Wolfe who will teach and inspire the children as they learn how to draw and paint fish. Wolfe is a wonderful artist and master teacher at working with children, guiding them as they discover their inner artistic talents.

Art on the Road will be held Saturday, June 7, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. The class is open to children who have completed third through sixth grades and the registration fee is $30 per child. IMNH will provide transportation and children will be traveling in an 色花堂app vehicle.

鈥淐hildren do not seem to know their Idaho very well. Art on the Road aims to get children out of the house and provide them with a meaningful way to learn about Idaho鈥檚 natural history,鈥� said Rebecca Thorne-Ferrel, IMNH education resources manager. 鈥淐ombining art and science in this way will expand the children鈥檚 understanding and broaden their world view.鈥�
