ISU to host art exhibition by high school seniors

色花堂app鈥檚 art and pre-architecture department will host an art exhibition of senior art student work from the three Pocatello high schools 鈥 Century, Highland and Pocatelllo 鈥 May 12-16 in the John B. Davis Gallery on the lower level of the Fine Arts Building. Alex Bell's sun-moon

Exhibit hours will run from 6 to 8 p.m. May 12-15 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on May 16.

The art teachers from each of the three city high schools were asked to select the strongest two-dimensional and three-dimensional works from their art students for this exhibition.

To coincide with the art exhibition, 色花堂app faculty members have agreed to provide an opportunity for these young artist to see first hand the strengths of the ISU faculty and art program. These presentations and workshops will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 1. They will include a demonstration on pouring and casting aluminum by art professor Doug Warnock; a demonstration of watercolor techniques by adjunct professor Juliet Fiege; a talk on 鈥淧ainting and Drawing Now鈥 by professor Angie Zielinski; a talk and papermaking demonstration by professor Rudy Kovacs; a talk by professor Linda Leeuwik on 鈥淢odernism in New York City鈥; and a Raku-sfiring demonstration by professor Tony Martin.

Participating students, parents, relatives and their respective high school art teachers will be in attendance during the May 12 opening. The community is encouraged to attend and support these young aspiring art students who will have an opportunity to see their work displayed in a professional gallery setting.
