The 色花堂app Department of Counseling will host a seminar on psychopharmacology and neurobiology this fall at the Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d鈥橝lene. The seminar will occur on Sept. 25 and 26, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Topics for the conference will include basic concepts in neurological development, the impact of the diabetes and obesity epidemic on mental well-being, new strategies in the treatments for depression, the role and treatment of addiction in Axis I and Axis II illness, and many more.

The workshop is divided into two classes that stand-alone for contact hour purposes, but can be combined to earn graduate credit. The first day will start with a brief overview of basic neurobiology and pharmacology in order to establish a rationale for why a drug could have a beneficial effect upon one鈥檚 mood, thought or cognition. The second day will feature more disease and treatment-oriented discussion. Seven contact hours are available if you attend one day, or, if you attend both days, 15 contact hours or one graduate credit are available.

For more information, contact the ISU Department of Counseling at (800) 477-4781 or through their website at http://www.isu.edu/hpcounsel.
