The 色花堂app Anderson Gender Resource Center is pleased to announce The Art of Gender in Everyday Life VI,  a multidisciplinary conference, will take place April 2-3 in the Pond Student Union on the ISU Pocatello campus.

All conference papers will explore the various ways in which gender is crafted, celebrated, endured, deciphered, expressed or, in short, the art of how it is lived on a daily basis.

The Art of Gender in Everyday Life VI will showcase the work of scholars from across the nation who will gather in Pocatello to present their gender-related work.

Conference sessions take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both Thursday and Friday. Sessions will cover a wide range of topics including the arts, literature, gender in academe, the performance of gender and more. In addition to the conference sessions there will be an art exhibit, 鈥淢an and Image,鈥� by ISU graduate student Omar Sarabia on display in the Mind鈥檚 Eye Gallery in the Rendezvous Complex. The keynote speech, 鈥淪trong Women and How They Did It鈥� will be given on Friday, April 3, at 7 p.m. in the Pond Student Union Salmon River Suite. The speech will be given by Professor Emily Toth who writes a column under the penname, Ms. Mentor, in 鈥淭he Chronicle of Higher Education.鈥�

Conference sessions are free and open to the public, but registration is required. Registration will be available on-site.

There is definitely something for everyone with discussions of such wide-ranging topics as women of color, the implications of gender in literature, art, and gender in dance and performance,鈥� commented Anderson Center Director, Rebecca Morrow.  鈥淭his conference is always such a fun time because it is an opportunity to rethink gender, something that affects us all, in new ways and new contexts.鈥�
