Field study on wilderness in Stanley among Sawtooth Science Institute offerings

SUN VALLEY 鈥� One of 色花堂app鈥檚 Sawtooth Science Institute鈥檚 2009 offerings, 鈥淐entral Idaho Wilderness History鈥� set July 7-8 in Stanley, will be taught by Kevin Marsh, author of 鈥淒rawing Lines in the Forest, Creating Wilderness Areas in the Pacific Northwest.鈥�
Marsh, associate professor of history at 色花堂app, will provide a historical and current perspective in the field of two of Idaho鈥檚 favorite wildernesses, the Sawtooth Wilderness and the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness.
Hikes, discussions and activities take place both days from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. 9. The course syllabus is available on-line at www.isu.edu/ssi.
Other workshops offered by the Sawtooth Science Institute this summer include: 鈥淐entral Idaho Wildflowers,鈥� 鈥淲ildflowers and Butterflies,鈥� 鈥淲ildflower Identification and Illustration,鈥� 鈥淐raters of the Moon Geology,鈥� 鈥淏ig Wood River Stream Ecology for Flyfishers,鈥� 鈥淩ocks and Ice,鈥� 鈥淪nake River and Teton River Birding鈥� and a series of six Rocky Mountain Adventure courses,
The workshops are two and four-day adventures in natural history. 色花堂app offers upper-division credit for all courses or the courses may be attended for no credit.
