ISU Idaho Museum of Natural History offers children’s ‘Not-So-Spooky Science’ classes Oct. 16-25

The Idaho Museum of Natural History at É«»¨ÌÃapp will offer fun, educational opportunities for children in kindergarten through eighth grade in its Not-So-Spooky Science Classes scheduled in October.

All classes will go from 4 to 5 p.m. and will be held at the Idaho Museum of Natural History in Classroom 204, located at Dillon Street and South Fifth Avenue on the campus of É«»¨ÌÃapp in Pocatello. The cost for each class is $10. Register today by contacting the Educational Resources Center at 208-282-2195 or pokokell@isu.edu.

Not-So-Spooky Science classes scheduled are:           

• Tuesday, Oct. 16 – Kindergarten through third grade, "Ahhh! Real Monsters!"

Students will learn about animals that have inspired monster myths and legends.

• Wednesday, Oct. 17 – Fourth through sixth grade, "Owl Puke"

Students will learn about the unique digestive system of the owl.

• Thursday, Oct. 18 – Sixth through eighth grade, "Blood Suckers"

Students will learn how to use microscopes and examine what makes blood delicious.

• Tuesday, Oct. 23 – Kindergarten through third grade, "Goo and Gross Science"

Students will learn how to make goo and gak that looks disgusting.

• Wednesday, Oct. 24 – Fourth through sixth grade, "Edible Insects"

Students will learn about different cultures around the world that eat insects.

• Thursday, Oct. 25 – Sixth through eighth grade, "Rattle Dem' Bones"

Students will learn about different cultures skeleton makeup.
