色花堂app to host Experiencing Conflict: A Series

色花堂app鈥檚 Committee for the Study of Violence, Conflict, and War in Society, Department of Art; and Eli M. Oboler Library will host a series of presentations and exhibits titled, 鈥淓xperiencing Conflict: A Series鈥 beginning Oct. 30.

James Aho, professor emeritus of sociology, along with Ellen Ryan, head of special collections and assistant professor, and Kelsi Linsenmann, undergraduate and Career Path Internship student, will present 鈥淎 Library of Infamy: Introduction to the James Aho Collection of Extremist Material鈥 on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 5 p.m. in the administrative suite at the Eli M. Oboler Library. A reception will immediately follow the presentation.

Linda Leeuwrik, assistant professor of art history and Lauren Thompson, a doctorate candidate of history from the University of Bradford, United Kingdom will present 鈥淚n a State of Conflict: The Personal Experience and Expression of War鈥 as part of the Humanities Caf茅 on Thursday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m. art Portneuf Valley Brewery located at 615 South 1st Ave. Hors d鈥檕euvres will be provided.

The John B. Davis Gallery inside the Fine Arts Building will host 鈥淰igilance: Veterans Art Exhibition鈥 beginning Monday, Nov. 11 through Wednesday, Nov. 20. An opening reception will be held Monday, Nov. 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. The John B. Davis Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

These events are supported by a Cultural Events Committee Grant from the College of Arts and Letters and funds from the Department of Art, Eli M. Oboler Library, and the Department of Sociology, Social Work, and Criminal Justice. All events are free and open to the public.
