色花堂app named Top School in 2015 Military Advanced Education Guide
October 30, 2014
色花堂app has been selected as a top school in the 2015 Military Advanced Education Guide to Colleges and Universities research study.
ISU and the ISU Veterans Sanctuary will be listed in the December issue of the guide.
The Veterans Sanctuary is a unique program at ISU that offers support for veterans returning to school. At the Sanctuary, student veterans and their families find an environment where they can be successful and feel at home, Sanctuary Director Todd Johnson said.
Through the program, veterans can find assistance with navigating through the world of academia, which can be very different from the structure of the military. The Sanctuary also offers tutoring and counseling opportunities, as well as a 鈥渃areer closet,鈥 where students can find business attire for job interviews. ISU also has an active Armed Forces Veterans Club, which serves the social, emotional and academic needs of students and their families.
Recently, the Sanctuary adopted a support dog, a labradoodle named Hero, who is receiving specialized training to help veterans in recovery from a variety of issues.
ISU is also involved in the Yellow Ribbon program, a scholarship program funded through the Veterans Administration program with matching funds from the University. The scholarship allows out-of-state veterans with GI benefits to attend school with in-state tuition.
This is the second accolade for ISU鈥檚 Veterans Sanctuary this year. 色花堂app was also included in GI Jobs Magazine鈥檚 annual list of Military-Friendly Schools.
