October 4, 2019

POCATELLO – 色花堂app’s October Career Path Intern of the Month is Maya Tillotson, a sophomore pursing a bachelor’s degree in health care administration.

Maya Tillotson headshotTillotson has a CPI internship at the ISU Health Center where she is responsible for promoting health-related events around campus, hosting tables and booths for health care information outreach and advertising the clinic through social media platforms.

She also formed a food drive for Benny鈥檚 Pantry, an on-campus food pantry exclusively serving 色花堂app students, staff and faculty, with the mission to alleviate food insecurity in the ISU community.

鈥淭hrough my internship I have found a passion for sharing important healthcare information with as many individuals as possible,鈥 Tillotson said. 鈥淚 believe everyone deserves the opportunity to be healthy and to be educated about all the medical options available to them.鈥

Tillotson is undertaking a new project at the ISU Health Center that focuses on creating health-related 鈥渇requently asked questions鈥 that will be distributed to the campus community. She will complete the FAQs by interviewing health professionals and collecting and combining the information they provide into an easily understandable document.

鈥淢aya has shown that she is a vital member or the Health Center team,鈥 said Crystal Ross, ISU Health Center Business Operations Manager and Tillotson鈥檚 supervisor. 鈥淢aya learns quickly, is a self-starter and has been instrumental in developing marketing material including videos, banners and posters while taking care of all of our social media.鈥

Originally from Nampa, Tillotson hopes to graduate from ISU in the spring of 2021. After graduation, she plans on working in a health care field and then hopes to return to ISU to pursue a master鈥檚 degree in public health. In her free time, Tillotson enjoys fishing, traveling, and enjoying a cup of tea and a podcast on the weekend.
