Borg currently holds a CPI internship with the College of Nursing where she has assisted in a dementia knowledge research project that focused on senior citizens living in rural Idaho. During her time as a CPI intern, Borg has aided in the preparation, data collection and data analysis for the project. Results from the projects were presented at both the SIGMA Theta Tau Region One International Education, 色花堂app and Leadership Conference in Sacramento, California and at the Idaho state radiographic science conference in Twin Falls. 

鈥淕oing out and doing site visits in person and actually interacting and getting to know the senior citizens has been a really awesome experience for me,鈥� Borg said. 鈥淭his internship has taught me a lot about the research process, which I did not have much experience with previously.鈥�

Borg has traveled throughout seven counties to collect data from participants and is now working on publishing a scholarly article on the research.

鈥淎shley and I are now partnering to put together a poster I will present at the Alzheimer鈥檚 Association International Conference 2019 as well as development of a manuscript for publication,鈥� said Melody Weaver, ISU nursing assistant professor and Borg鈥檚 supervisor. 鈥淎shley is motivated, creative and not in the least afraid to ask questions or seek out information on her own.鈥�

Originally from Mountain Home, Borg will graduate in May 2020. She plans on working as a traveling radiologic technologist for a few years and then applying to medical school where she will study radiology. In her spare time Borg enjoys traveling, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family.
