CPI Program featured in Idaho Business Review

March 12, 2020

daho State University鈥檚 Career Path Internship (CPI) Program has been featured in a recent article of Idaho Business Review. The article, written by Sharon Fisher, highlights how important the CPI Program is to student鈥檚 success and the University.  The following is information from the article that showcases the program鈥檚 strengths:

色花堂app hopes to keep graduates in Idaho by preparing them for jobs. The advantage of the program is that it gives students an idea of what careers they want to pursue 鈥 or not. 鈥淭hey get in there early and make sure that what they鈥檙e studying is what they鈥檙e passionate about,鈥 Emily Jahsman, Associate Director of ISU鈥檚 Career Center.

One company affiliated with the CPI program is MedMan, a practice management company. Jesse Arnoldson, Director of Interim Management in the Boise-based company and an ISU and CPI alumnus himself, approached the program to help the company add talent. Below is what he had to say about the program via email:

鈥...It can be a real struggle to hire someone right out of college鈥hey usually lack the track record and experience we would be looking for. The CPI program allows us to 鈥榯est drive鈥 these young professionals and help us build a pipeline of talent for when we have a position to fill鈥e felt that it was such a benefit to MedMan and our clinics that we then invested in bringing on three more CPIs since then鈥e鈥檝e hired one of them permanently and are hoping to do the same with MaKenna when she graduates.鈥

MaKenna Little is a graduate student working on her third internship in the health sciences field. She had this to say about her experience in the CPI program:
鈥淭his position has given me the opportunity to see how a practice is built from the ground up and all the different parts that come into play in order to open the doors. The CPI program is amazing for students like myself, because you are able to gain great experience from people who have already been around the block.鈥
