Invitation to Celebrate Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Treaty Days with Indian Relay Horse Races and Fireworks Show

June 30, 2025

Greetings ISU faculty, staff and students,

I would like to take this opportunity to share with you information about an important cultural event coming up – Shoshone-Bannock Tribes Treaty Days on July 3, a time to honor and reflect upon the historical significance of the treaty between the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes and the United States government.

This day marks the enduring legacy of our peoples' sovereignty and the rights that were established through the Treaty of 1868. It is a day that highlights the resilience, culture, and ongoing contributions of the Shoshone-Bannock peoples to the community, state, and nation. Celebrating our treaty ensures the continuation of our rich traditions and serves as a reminder of our shared history with the land and its people. To learn more about the Treaty, please read the full text here: .

Director of Tribal RelationsAs part of the Treaty Days celebrations, we are excited to invite the 色花堂app community to join us in the festivities, which will include our Indian Relay Horse Races – a thrilling and culturally significant event that brings together skilled horse riders showcasing traditional racing techniques. The event will be followed by a Fireworks Show that has brought our communities together for many years.

Please note that Treaty Days is an observed holiday for the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes, and as such, government offices will be closed. However, local businesses will remain open for regular operations.
