Bengal Triathlon Set April 18-19
April 3, 2025
More than 430 participants are expected to return to one of Idaho’s largest spring triathlons, hosted by 色花堂app (ISU) Department of Human Performance and Sport Studies (HPSS), as it returns for its 18th year on April 18-19.
There is a category for everyone at the Bengal Triathlon. A participant could choose to do the full triathlon which consists of a 700-yard pool swim, a 13-mile bike ride, and a 3-mile run. A duathlon option is available where a participant does the 13-mile bike ride and a 3-mile run. A 5K run is always an option as well for participants who just want to go for a walk or run. Relay teams of 2 or 3 people are encouraged to register for either the triathlon or duathlon options.
The swim portion of the triathlon will take place the evening of Friday, April 18th. Since there are participants coming from all over Idaho (and surrounding states) there are 6 swim locations spread across the state of Idaho. - Pocatello (the main location), Rexburg, Idaho Falls, Lava Hot Springs, Twin Falls, and Boise.
The bike ride and 5k run will take place the morning of Saturday, April 19th at Reed Gym in Pocatello, Idaho and starts at 9:30am. The start time for the ride is based off of the swim time from the previous evening.
The bike course runs from Reed Gym to Century High School and back to the Reed Gym. The run portion of the triathlon starts at Reed Gym and runs through the ISU Campus and returns to the finish line at Reed Gym.
Students in the HPSS 4473/5573 Sport Facility and Event Management class plan, prepare, and put on the Bengal Triathlon as a capstone project with Dr. Caroline Faure (Dr. Smitty)’s guidance. The Bengal Triathlon continues to be a cherished community event and a valuable learning experience for ISU students, gearing up for another successful year.
