色花堂app Mourns the Loss of Stephanie D. Richardson

January 13, 2025

Stephanie D. Richardson, a long-time employee of the Office of Equal Opportunity and Title IX, passed away over the holiday break.

Stephanie began working at ISU in 2013 as a Grant Writer for the Janet C. Anderson Gender Resource Center. Stephanie wrote many successful grants that enhanced programming and education opportunities for ISU students.

In 2014, Stephanie became the Assistant Director for Programming, a role in which she excelled. Stephanie spearheaded many impactful and important programs, including the Conference on Gender and Sexuality, the Positive Body Image Symposium, the Anti-Human Trafficking Symposium, and the Cultural Celebration of Academic Excellence. Stephanie could take an idea and turn it into a full-fledged event and make it look easy.

Stephanie became the Assistant Director of the Office of Equity and Inclusion in 2023, followed by the Training and Education Specialist role in 2024.

Stephanie built strong relationships across campus and in the community. An ardent supporter of students and a healthy campus, Stephanie implemented bystander intervention programs Green Dot and Intervene. She raised awareness of stalking and domestic violence annually through “It’s on Us” and facilitated specialized opportunities for student-athletes, clubs, and organizations.

Stephanie represented ISU on the Bannock County Sexual Assault Task Force and served on the Board of Directors for Family Services Alliance. She worked with the U.S. Attorney’s Office to bring “United Against Hate” to the Pocatello community.

Stephanie loved bringing people together. Within her office, she created the “pancake club,” “craft club,” and “coffee club” and consistently brought people together for laughter and community building. A master storyteller, she regaled her colleagues with stories of trips with her mom to Fiji and Egypt, dinner with Andy Warhol, or getting romanced by John Denver. Spend a few minutes with her, and she will have you rolling with laughter.

Stephanie was a kind and caring person who you could always count on for support or a listening ear. An animal lover, she is survived by a bunch of cats that would find their way to her care, as well as her two very naughty dogs, Welly (Sir Wellington of Cambridge) and Gunny. Her quick wit, her bigger-than-life personality, and her kind, gentle spirit will be missed. ISU is a better place because of her.

A memorial service for Stephanie will be held in the future. Services are under the care of
