ISU Esports Rocket League Team Wins Big Sky State Games Championship

April 16, 2025

The inaugural 色花堂app Esports Rocket League team has etched their names in the history books, capturing the championship title at the Big Sky State Games/Big Sky Rocket League Championship. In their first major season, the Bengals proved they’re a force to be reckoned with, toppling a field of premier collegiate programs to bring home the trophy.

Coming into the tournament hot off the heels of a strong second-place finish at the March Big Sky Conference Tournament, ISU's trio — Emory "Ej" Johnson, Adam "AdamS" Storms, and Jye "UltraMag" Lambson — showcased exceptional teamwork and resilience throughout the high-stakes weekend.

Up against a stacked lineup of top-tier programs — including Colorado State, Montana State, the University of Montana, the University of Oregon, and Washington State University — the Bengals powered through Saturday’s group stage with confidence.

After a tough first round loss, the Bengals launched an extraordinary lower bracket run, tearing through every opponent with precision and determination. Their relentless pursuit of victory led them to the grand finals, where they faced Weber State University in an electrifying showdown.

With the championship on the line, ISU delivered a dominant performance, securing a 4-2 victory over Weber State to claim the title and complete their incredible comeback story.

“This is a huge win for our program and our players,” said coach, Charles Johnson. “They showed the heart of champions — bouncing back from adversity, staying locked in, and trusting in each other every step of the way. We couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve accomplished.”

The Big Sky State Games tournament featured elite collegiate competition from across the region, making ISU’s victory especially impressive in their debut season. With this championship, the Bengals have set a high standard and sent a clear message: Bengal Esports has arrived.
