Twelve College of Technology Students Triumph at Idaho State BPA Conference, Headed to National
March 20, 2025
Twelve students from the College of Technology’s Business Professionals of America (BPA) club took the 2025 Idaho State Conference by storm on March 3-5, 2025. Not only did 12 College of Technology students place, but every one of them was placed in multiple events, and Jessica First received first place in four separate events. Now each of them is preparing and fundraising for the National Competition in Orlando, Florida, which will be held May 7-11, 2025.
“I am incredibly proud of my students for their outstanding performance at the Idaho State BPA Leadership Conference,” said Lindsay Allen, senior clinical instructor in the Business Technology program and one of the three advisors of the BPA team. “Not only did they all qualify for nationals, but the camaraderie and support they showed one another were truly inspiring. Watching them on stage with such big smiles, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this amazing experience. It’s moments like these that make all the hard work worthwhile. I’m excited to see them continue to grow and shine at nationals!”
The students who placed are as follows: Denette Powers, Krissy Freitas, Jocelyn Mayer, Beth Heldebrand, Jessica First, Maja McKnight, Hannah Van Metre, Casey Anderson, Aaron Harmon, Zach Ellis, Andrew Esplin, and Shantell Hulse. If you are interested in helping them get to Nationals you can reach out to Lindsay Allen, Sara Turpin, or Duane Rawlings at lindsayallen@isu.edu, saraturpin@isu.edu, or duanerawlings@isu.edu, for information on upcoming fundraiser events.
