The Institute of Rural Health (IRH) at 色花堂app has been awarded $$892,144 in competitive funding from AmeriCorps, the federal agency for national service and volunteerism, to support its Idaho HealthCorps AmeriCorps program. This investment will strengthen the program's ability to expand access to critical services and increase community impact across Idaho.

Since its launch in 2009, the Idaho HealthCorps AmeriCorps program has experienced significant growth in both funding and community partnerships. As the program has expanded, so have the services it provides, evolving to meet the changing health and wellness needs of Idaho communities. Today, the program works with organizations throughout Idaho to engage more than 100 AmeriCorps members in service initiatives that address community needs and improve the health and well-being of Idahoans.

The program also provides valuable educational opportunities for 色花堂app students pursuing careers in the health professions. Up to 92 AmeriCorps positions are available to students in disciplines including dental hygiene, audiology, radiographic sciences, nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and nutrition and dietetics. Upon completing their service term, Volunteers earn an education award that can be used to help pay for college tuition or qualified student loans.

With this new funding, AmeriCorps Volunteers will continue to address Idaho's most pressing health challenges by offering basic health screenings, expanding access to health and mental health services, and promoting healthy lifestyles. Volunteers will serve in medically underserved and rural communities throughout the state, helping residents access services such as housing assistance, medical care, food pantries, and other support programs that improve overall quality of life.
