2026 Workshop Schedule
Cancellation Policy: Workshops may be canceled up to or within 10 days of the scheduled date. This is usually due to a lack of registrations. We pay our presenters fairly for their time and work, so we need to reach a certain number of registrations to break even. Please sign up for workshops BEFORE the 10-day limit, as you may miss out on a workshop otherwise. Please read our Cancellation and Refund Policy on the General Information page for more details.
Thank you for choosing to support the Pocatello Counseling Clinic.

Presenters: Adriana Zarate & Daniela Ugarte-Rodriguez
This 3-hour online training prepares clinicians to provide competent, ethical suicide risk assessment and safety planning with Latine clients, with focused attention to immigration-related stressors (fear, separation, trauma exposure, discrimination, mixed-status family concerns, and barriers to care). Participants will learn a structured assessment workflow, documentation essentials, and level-of-care decision-making to reduce risk and support client autonomy. The session emphasizes culturally responsive safety planning strategies that strengthen protective factors while addressing language access, family dynamics, and practical barriers (transportation, cost, limited services). Participants will learn why these feelings are so common, how online environments can amplify them, and practical strategies to build confidence, challenge negative self-talk, and focus on personal growth rather than comparison.
