Academic Coaching

Academic coaching is a structured, goal-oriented process that helps students improve how they learn, rather than just what they learn. It focuses on building skills, habits, and strategies that lead to better academic performance over time.

Assistive Technology

Assistive technology (AT) refers to any device, equipment, or system designed to help individuals with disabilities perform tasks they may find challenging due to their physical, sensory, cognitive, or mental impairments. The goal of assistive technology is to enhance independence, improve quality of life, and enable individuals to participate more fully in various activities.

Captioning

Captioning services involve creating text-based versions of audio or video content, which help make media accessible to people who are deaf or hard of hearing, as well as those who prefer reading or need help understanding spoken language. These services convert spoken dialogue, sound effects, music cues, and other relevant audio into written form, usually displayed as captions or subtitles on a screen.

Document Remediation

refers to the process of modifying and enhancing documents to ensure they meet specific standards or accessibility requirements. This is commonly done to ensure that documents are accessible to people with disabilities, particularly in compliance with legal requirements like the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).

ASL/English Interpreter

is a professional who translates between American Sign Language (ASL) and spoken or written English. Their primary role is to facilitate communication between Deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals who use ASL and hearing individuals who use English. This can take place in various settings, such as meetings, educational environments, medical appointments, or social events.
