  • Mark Andersen serves as the Associate Vice President of Facilities. He joined the ISU Facilities team in 2023 after coming to the university from Gillette, Wyoming. With many years of experience in higher education, he brings a wealth of knowledge and valuable leadership experience to the department.
  • What Mark enjoys about working in Facilities is the opportunity to work alongside his colleagues in a collaborative environment. He values being able to lead the team, invest in others, and help bring people together. Mark enjoys recognizing and building upon the strengths of those around him and creating opportunities for others to grow and succeed.
  • Outside of work, Mark loves being with his family and going on adventures together. He also enjoys being in the great outdoors and participating in some of his favorite activities, including archery, fly fishing, hunting, woodworking, gardening, snowshoeing, and backpacking.

Cheryl

Cheryl Hanson

  • Assist with strategic planning and project development
  • Coordinate furniture selection, procurement, and installation for campus projects
  • Create, coordinate, and review design concepts
  • Develop and maintain campus facility design standards
  • Integrate university branding across campus facilities and spaces
  • Support campus Master Planning and long-range facility development initiatives
  • Cheryl Hanson has been a highly valued and dedicated member of the Facilities team for many years and currently serves as the University Architect. Throughout her career at 色花堂app, she has held a variety of leadership roles, including Interim Associate Vice President of Facilities, Director of Planning, Design, & Construction, Project Manager, and Adjunct Professor. Her broad experience and leadership have made a lasting impact on the university.
  • Before joining ISU, Cheryl spent 21 years in the private sector, working as an architect for several firms and operating her own businesses. Her professional expertise has focused primarily on institutional and educational design. Cheryl completed her education in Chicago, Illinois; Versailles, France; and Pocatello, Idaho, bringing a diverse educational background and decades of architectural experience to her work.
  • What Cheryl enjoys most about her work is contributing to ISU’s projects and long-term plans, knowing that she plays a role in shaping a positive and impactful academic environment. She takes pride in helping create the look and feel of the Bengal campus and in supporting the Facilities team in their mission. Being part of something meaningful and lasting is what drives her dedication.
  • Outside of work, Cheryl loves spending time with friends and family—especially her grandbabies, who are the apples of her eye. She also enjoys playing music and exploring her favorite cuisine: Greek and Mediterranean.

Chris Wagner

  • Chris Wagner serves as the Director of Maintenance and Operations and has been a valued member of the ISU team for more than 20 years. His career with the university began as a student employee, and he went on to serve as a Utility Craftsman, Landscape Superintendent, and Landscape Manager before stepping into his current leadership role.
  • What Chris enjoys most about working within the department is the opportunity to work alongside an incredible group of people. He especially values the strong teamwork and collaboration that make the department a great place to work.
  • Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending his free time taking advantage of everything the great outdoors has to offer. His favorite activities include riding dirt bikes and side-by-sides, hunting and fishing, whitewater rafting, and attending outdoor concerts.

Chris Baker

Director of Planning, Design, & Construction

  • Assign project managers to capital and facilities projects.
  • Coordinate the Call for Projects process.
  • Develop and maintain project Smartsheets to track progress and milestones.
  • Monitor and manage 色花堂app project budgets.
  • Track the status of current and upcoming university projects.
  • Represent the Planning, Design, & Construction (PDC) team at PBFAC meetings.
  • Serve as a PDC liaison with the State of Idaho and other external partners and agencies.
  • Chris Baker joined 色花堂app in 2019. He currently serves as the Director of Planning, Design, & Construction, where he oversees the Facilities project managers and supports a wide range of campus projects.
  • Chris began his career in the construction industry in 1997, spending 22 years with a Public Works general contractor in Elk Grove, California, specializing in K–12 and higher education projects. His work includes major campus projects at UC Davis, UC Merced, Sacramento State, Yuba College, Sierra College, and numerous school districts across the Sacramento Valley. During this time, he held roles including Responsible Managing Officer, Estimator, and Senior Project Manager.
  • Chris values the work-life balance that comes with working in Facilities and takes great pride in leading and delivering successful construction projects. He also appreciates the strong relationships he has built within the department and is well known for his approachable personality and sense of humor.
  • Outside of work, Chris enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching sports, tailgating and cheering on ISU football, and traveling.
